4 polio cases detected in SWA .

WANA: Four polio cases have been detected in South Waziristan, officials said on Friday. The officials of the Health Department confirmed the cases in Shaktoi, Srarogha, Shakai and Barmal areas near the Pak-Afghan border.

An emergency meeting was held at the office of the Political Agent Muhammad Javed Marwat after confirmation of the polio cases in the area. The officials decided to launch a three-day immunisation drive in SWA from January 30.

Around 240 mobile teams have been constituted to administer anti-polio vaccine to kids. A jirga of the Ahmedzai Wazir tribe was also held in Wana which announced support to the teams in the anti-polio campaign.
