QUETTA: Convener Presidential Emergency Action Plan for Polio Eradication Dr Azra Afzal Pechuho said that Balochistan would soon be made polio free province.
Chairing a meeting here Monday to review the polio eradication campaign in Balochistan, she said that new campaign was yielding positive results.
Several cases of polio surfaced in Balochistan during the last couple years. The government has launched a new campaign involving the deputy commissioners of the districts and tribal and social leaders of various areas.
The meeting was told that the polio campaign in Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Quetta, Naseerabad and Jaffarabad was a success.
Later, addressing the meeting Dr Azra expressed her satisfaction over the success of the campaign and said that Balochistan had vast area and needed special attention and hard work to cover.
She said that pace and success of the program showed that the province would soon be made polio free.
Provincial minister for Information Technology and Polio Eradication Shama Perveen Magsi was also present on the occasion. (APP)
